1. Arrive to class on time. The door will be locked after the tardy bell. If you arrive to class after the tardy bell, you will not be admitted to the classroom without a pass.
2. Use the restroom, etc. during your breaks between classes and NOT during our class.
3. No cell phones or other electronic devices are allowed in class. These items will be taken up and turned in to the front office. NO EXCEPTIONS and NO WARNINGS.
4. Food and gum are not allowed. You may bring a water bottle to class. Do not ask to go to the snack or drink machines during class.
5. No sleeping.
6. Upon arrival to class, immediately start to work on the posted assignment.
7. Class is not dismissed when the bell rings. You must remain seated, until I formally dismiss you.
1. Talking during tests is prohibited. Once a test has been passed out to the first student, anyone who talks will receive a ZERO for the test. NO EXCEPTIONS.
2. If you need to ask me a question during the test, please raise your hand and wait until you are spoken to.
3. After you complete a test and turn it in, you are to remain quiet. If you talk, you will receive a ZERO for the test.
4. If you cheat on a test or an assignment, you will receive a ZERO. You will also be expected to write a letter to your parents explaining why and how you cheated. Your parents must sign this letter and return it to me or else you will not be eligible to take the next unit test, and you will receive a ZERO. Cheating will NOT be tolerated under any circumstances.
Plagiarism will not be tolerated in this class. Plagiarism is when you pass off the ideas of others as your own; it is stealing the ideas and/or the words of others.
If you do use the ideas and/or words that are not your own, then you must cite the source of this information. In English classes, we follow the Modern Language Association’s (MLA) format to cite this information.
If you plagiarize, then you will receive a ZERO for the assignment. You will also be expected to write a letter to your parents explaining why and how you plagiarized. Your parents must sign this letter and return it to me or else you will not be eligible to attempt the next writing assignment, and you will receive a ZERO.
1. You are expected to attend class each day. Class participation counts 20% of your final grade.
2. If you are present in class each day, you are eligible to drop your lowest Unit Test grade.
