Introduction to Healthcare Science Technology I

For those taking Healthcare Science for the first time, you can look forward to learning many interesting things about the careers in the medical field. You will
gain valuable skills and information from this course that could prove useful to
you later in life no matter which career you choose.

                                                        INTRODUCTION

The health care field can be one of the most satisfying careers one can choose.
However, it does require skill, dedication, ability to get along with others, and a
willingness to be of service. Let us work together to fulfill your expectations and
mine as we learn about a variety of careers in the medical field.

                                                COURSE REQUIREMENTS

You will explore many job opportunities available in the health care field – receiving valuable hands on experience with each career. You will need a notebook 
or folder to maintain all your written assignments. You will receive a grade for your
notebook each 9 weeks period. You will be tested on information you learn with written tests and hands on performance with skills tests. You will also complete a
project each grading period from a subject you choose.

TESTS  –                      25%
SKILLS  –                    25%              }   All make up work must be scheduled            
NOTEBOOK QUIZ – 25%                   within 5 days of returning to school
PROJECT -                 25%

NOTE:  EXTRA CREDIT will be given for membership & active participation

                                              RULES & REGULATIONS

Be on time to class and ready to begin. Use your time well; don’t distract others.
Obey all safety rules. Clean up work area at end of class; use trash can & recycle.
Avoid cell phone use. Respect yourself as well as others. Cooperate and work well with others.
