Pickens High School Pursuing Higher Standards

Peer Helpers are young adults who are trained to use their hearts and minds to peacefully resolve conflict, solve problems, effectively provide service, promote safety, and report situations involving real or potential danger to safety or well-being of the peer helper or other individuals.

There are currently 35 peer helpers at PHS, and participation is limited to those individuals who have been interviewed by the sponsors and/or recommended by teachers.

Peer Helpers meet the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:20 a.m.

Special projects include participation in the annual PHS White Christmas Program and the Dragon Drive for Trash pick-up. Peer Helpers are especially proud of the Tutoring Program, which provides help in all subject areas to fellow students.

Peer Helpers is all about service to others to provide a better school environment. They set a good example by promoting the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
