| Pickens High School has a very active, very organized, and truly outstanding FFA.

The club works closely with its support group, the FFA Alumni.
The National FFA organization was founded in 1928.
The Pickens County Chapter was chartered in 1938.
Some 206 PHS students were FFA members in 2001-02.
To be a member, you must be enrolled in an Agriculture Education class.
FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
The mission of Agricultural Education is to prepare and support individuals for careers, build awareness, and develop leadership for the food, fiber, and natural resource systems.
FFA members strive to attain FFA Degrees, State Proficiency Awards, GPA Awards, National FFA Scholarships, and Student-of-the Month Awards.
Events conducted by the club include Sportsman Competitions like the Big Buck, Big Gobbler and Big Bass Contests.
They also conduct an ATV Safety Clinic.
Members enjoy attending the Rodeo at the University of Georgia.
An FFA float is designed and entered into the annual Marble Festival Parade.
Fundraising activities include the sale of Beef Jerky and Flower Bulbs as well as other enterprises.
FFA Week emphasis has members writing a special article for the Pickens County Progress, creating bulletin boards. and distributing FFA pens and pads.
Students at other Pickens County schools look up to the FFA members who come and help with Georgia Ag Day at PCMS and Colonial Days at Jasper Elementary.
Club members have much to offer to the community through contributions of White Christmas gifts for needy children, assisting in the distribution of commodities at the Senior citizens center, and working at the Community Thrift Store. They bring canned goods for the needy as part of an annual Food Drive and line up to donate blood whenever there is a PHS Blood Drive. Looking for something exciting to do?
